Tucson Mountains near Desesrst Museum

Description: The Day After Thanksgiving is ideal for burning off pumpkin pie and taking a hike. We will hike about a little over a mile into the desert, up a wash and then cross country to a patch of buffelgrass. Hike is moderately difficult.
Meeting Location: Meet along Kinney Rd, about a half mile west of McCain Loop road (turnoff to Gilbert Ray campground at pullout K-19. this is very close to the Brown Mountain picnic area. parking will be tight, so you may need to park at K-18 and walk up. Also I will try to help set up carpools.

Volunteers: 1 registered out of a total capacity of 25
Tools Provided: picks and gloves
Bring: water and a snack
Wear: long pants, long sleeves, boots, hat, sunglasses
Additional Information: Afterwards you may enter the Desert Museum for free.

Catalina State Park

Date: December 1, 2018

Organization: Catalina State Park Buffel Slayers
Description: Cool weather is the best time to dig buffelgrass! Join us again along the 50 Year Trail where we will enjoy scenic views of Pusch Ridge and protect saguaros from this non-native invader.
Meeting Location: Equestrian Center Parking Area. Meet at the trailhead picnic area. Please park to the left of the horse corrals.
Buffelgrass pull location: 11570 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85737
Volunteers: 3 registered out of a total capacity of 30
Tools Provided: pick-mattocks, work gloves
Bring: 2 liters of water, snack, sunscreen
Wear: Long pants, sun shirt, hat, sturdy shoes or boots
