Saguaro National Park East (2nd Saturday of every month)

Their next event buffelgrass removal event is scheduled for Saturday, April 12.  Meet at the Visitor Center of the Rincon Mountain District (eastside) at Saguaro National Park (3693 South Old Spanish Trail) . It is highly recommended that you wear long pants, sturdy shoes, a long sleeved shirt, and sun protection (as well as any other gear needed to protect you from the applicable elements).  The Park will provide all the necessary tools, including gloves for those who do not have them.

We will be starting at 7:00am in honor of the oncoming summer.  As always, please wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and sun protection.    We will meet at the Visitor Center of the Rincon Mt. District (east side) and work until 11:00am.  Please follow the signs to the allotted parking area.  After we gather, we will carpool to the worksite.

Save the Date - the May event will be on May 10.

Sonoran Desert Weedwackers (3rd Saturday of every month)

Saturday, June 21

This month Saturday, June 21, we will be working on the CAP canal area again. Masses of buffelgrass have been building up in this area over many years. Weedwackers have been working this site since March. It would be good to wear hiking boots. For this weedwacking activity, we will be carrying bags out. We will start at 6:00am and will be done by 10:00am.
Weedwackers meet at the Caretaker's House across the road from the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum on Kinney Road. We will meet at 6:00am. Parking is available at the Caretaker's House. Gloves and digging bars will be provided, but remember to bring sunscreen, water and snacks. Munchies are always appreciated for snacking after the digging.
