At Your School - Group Reservation Form

The Desert Museum can come to your classroom! Our Education Specialists bring live animals, interactive teaching activities and superb natural history expertise. These standards-aligned classes can help reinforce your teaching, or introduce a topic. These programs will leave memories that last a lifetime! This form is for free Desert Discovery Outreach Programs available to schools with greater than 50% of students eligible for free or reduced lunch. If your school does not meet this criteria, please use the regular form instead.

How will you use this outreach program to complement your classroom teaching?
Outreach Programming is limited to Pima and Santa Cruz Counties. Overnight accommodation charges may be required, depending on travel time and the duration of programming. For programming within these counties a travel fee will be added to your reservation if you are 50 miles or more from the museum.
Reservation requests need to be submitted at least 30 days in advance.
Programs are offered Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri. (start times are between 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) with up to 4 presentations of the same lab per day - 30 student maximum per presentation Please check days of the week when completing the date selection.

To accommodate Middle and High Schools we will be able to adjust the start times by a couple of minutes as needed.

Two Presentation Min. - Four Presentation Max. Program min/max are applied to the same program conducted on the same day.

Special Event Visit

Does your school/youth group have a Science Fair or festival coming up? If our standard classroom format programs don't meet your needs we can come to your location for a Special Event Visit. Our Desert Museum educators will interact with your group in a festival setting. We will be at a table and provide hands-on exploration of artifacts interspersed with live animal interpretations. (It will depend on suitability of environment for live animals). Recommended for Science Fairs and festivals.
Price: $200 for the first hour. $80 each additional hour (up to 4 hours). Prices are not pro-rated for partial hours. Availability on weekends and evening is very limited. Please reserve early.
