Milpitas Wash drains the Chuckwalla and Chocolate Mountains and flows into the Colorado River. This is one of the largest washes in California, nearly a mile wide at its lower end. Despite the large watershed, the wash carries water only once or twice a year because downpours are rare. Most of the trees are desert ironwoods. The vehicle tracks in the lower right provide scale.
